We launched the ALPOLIC business in 1971 and major applications were for sign boards and housing materials around that time. ALPOLIC has been recognized in its advantages of high rigidity and superior flatness since the beginning. In the 1980s, we set up a continuous coating line for aluminum coils, and thanks to the coating quality, the features of ALPOLIC were upgraded. Since the 1990s when we completed the improvement of fire retardant plastic core material, ALPOLIC has been widely used as a wall cladding material instead of a solid aluminum panel. In the early 2000s, we started to develop stainless and titanium composite sheets and also added many other color options of our products to meet demand for more attractive designs. Mitsubishi Chemical's ALPOLIC has been in the confidence of customers over 40 years around the world and continues to be a world leading ACM.
Designing comfort and safety of diversifying exterior applications
Our polycarbonate sheets for exterior use are an easy-to-use transparent material with excellent weather and shock resistance. For this reason, it can be bent for installation to fit sashes at room temperature, responding to sophisticated design needs. It also increases the flexibility of future structures as flame resistant roof material to direct sunlight into a house.
HISHIMETAL is a composites material that is produced by laminating PVC film on a base material such as galvanized steel sheets, stainless steel sheets and aluminum sheets. PVC film is a general purpose film and we have employed it as a laminating film for many years. This material is used in many different industries because it has metal strength and workability in addition to the design qualities and functional properties of plastic film.
EXUM incorporates galvanized steel sheets, stainless steel sheets, and aluminum alloy sheets as a base material. EXUM is a polyester-based plastic film-laminated steel sheet manufactured by our multi-layer extrusion technology.
This material is primarily used in interior applications due to the combination of metal strength, workability, and design qualities.
HISHIMETAL HG incorporates galvanized steel sheets, stainless steel sheets, and aluminum sheets as a base material. HISHIMETAL HG is a composite material produced by laminating HG film onto the base material using our multi-layer extrusion technology.
This material is utilized primarily in door applications due to its many design options such as metallic designs and similar.
AIRLINER is a duct material with the strength of a steel sheet with the properties of a PVC film. With functionality only possible in composite materials, this product is used to create more comfortable living environments.
HISHIMETAL EX is a highly functional material produced by laminating various high-performance films on a metal sheet using the HISHIMETAL manufacturing techniques. It has new functionalities including reflectivity, insulation and sliding properties.
Airtight design of houses prevents indoor air from leaking outdoors and at the same time shuts outdoor air off, increasing the effectiveness of air conditioning, contributing to energy saving. Furthermore, airtight sheets prevent vapor generated indoors from entering heat-ray intercepting material, eliminating internal condensation and by maintaining performance of heat-insulating material and assists in the prevention of wood corrosion, improves the durability of houses.
In this application, acrylic panels should not be a protagosist. We provide acrylic panels that allow people to view fish, animals, or experimental apparatus clearly without noticing the panel itself. We can also create aquariums and other devices with curved and circular shapes thanks to main characteristics features of acrylic panels, such as the good formability and durability. For large panel applications that cannot be transported, we can perform special chemical jointing processes at the installation site. Our acrylic panels are used in not only domestic but also overseas aquariums.
