Scintillator is a material that convert radial ray such as X-ray into the visible light. By using with a light detector such as TFT, CCD, CMOS sensors, The image can be efficiently converted to a digital image.
Mitsubishi Chemical has its own phosphor manufacturing technology and processing know-how, including the DRZ series used for medical X-ray diagnostic imaging and baggage inspection, We have commercialized excellent scintillators for digital X-ray equipment such as Short Decay and Low Afterglow Type used for high-speed line sensors for contamination inspection.

Mitsubishi Chemical's "DRZ series" is a GOS-based scintillator product used in the indirect conversion method (a method of converting X-rays to light by irradiating the phosphor to light and reading the light as an image with a photodetector).Compared to the "CsI" also used in indirect conversion method, GOS has the merit of being able to be used for a long time because of GOS’s stable performance. Among them, our "DRZ series" realizes outstanding stability and high cost performance by developing and manufacturing our own fluorescent substances over a long period of more than half a century. Today, the DRZ series is one of the world's most widely used scintillator products, ranging from medical applications such as radiography and radiation therapy to industrial applications such as structural inspection and baggage inspection.
