Fire at the Kashima Plant No. 2 Ethylene Plant

A fire in Kashima occurred at the No.2 Ethylene Plant on December 21, 2007, and four persons in partner companies died.
We express our sincere condolences for the four persons who died in the fire, and extend our heartfelt sympathy and apologies to their bereaved families.
We also sincerely apologize for causing so much trouble to all who had been affected including neighboring residents.
Taking this fire accident seriously, we will make a concerted effort to prevent a recurrence and restore confidence with thorough safety management in the Mitsubishi Chemical and its group companies.
