Commemorative Ceremony Held for Completion of the Marketing Technical Center Food Park, a Base for Providing Solutions for the Diversifying Needs of the Food Market in China

The Mitsubishi Chemical Group (the MCG Group) hereby announces that it completed construction of the Marketing Technical Center Food Park (the MTC Food Park), a base for developing markets and technologies for food-related products, in Shanghai, China, on November 21, 2022, and held a commemorative ceremony.
The MTC Food Park was established as a branch office of Mitsubishi Chemical (China) Co., Ltd. (Location: Shanghai, China). Functional evaluation and application development functions for products developed for China, which had been carried out in Japan, were transferred to the facility, and experimental equipment was installed for analysis and other operations. By unifying the development system and contact with customers and establishing the MTC Food Park in China, which enables prototype production, evaluation and analysis of foods, the MCG Group has developed a system that makes it possible to quickly provide different varieties of solutions that meet the diversifying needs of the Chinese market by combining the MCG Group’s wide range of technologies and product lines.
The commemorative ceremony was attended by many guests and related parties, such as Ambassador to Shanghai Shuichi Akamatsu and executives of the Development Zone. We also introduced equipment for the trial production of foods and various equipment for analysis and evaluation that enable open innovation with customers, as well as the attached office space, to the guests.
Based on our new management policy of "Forging the future," the MCG Group aims to provide innovative solutions that meet the needs of end markets and contribute to their development by leveraging the MCG Group’s strengths in its unique product portfolio and technology. The MCG Group has positioned food as one of the most important strategic markets among them. With the opening of the MTC Food Park, the MCG Group aims for further growth in the Chinese food market by promptly responding to the issues of each customer, a technically challenging undertaking.

: Used in a wide range of products, including beverages and flour products.
2. Ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer resin (Soarnol™)
: Used for food packaging and other applications, offering excellent gas barrier properties.
3. Zeolite membrane (ZEBREX™)
: Mainly used for dehydration and refinement of ingredients, such as flavors and raw materials of fatty compounds
