Anode Materials for Lithium-ion BatteryMPG(natural graphite-based) / ICG(artificial graphite-based)
Mitsubishi Chemical CorporationCharacteristics
[Close]
MPG and ICG are graphite-based anode materials for lithium-ion batteries. There are two types of carbon-based anode materials, graphite-based materials and coke-based materials. The graphite-based materials are characterized by the large capacity. MPG shows excellent performance under rapid charging and discharging cycles and low-temperature environment. ICG has large capacity with improved battery life.
■ Characteristics
(1) High Output
MPG, natural graphite-based anode materials, shows high output performance. Very low level of reaction resistance was achieved through the further improvement on the low-resistance materials.
(2) High Safety
The improved MPG shows higher safety because of the higher thermal decomposition temperature of the surface layer (solid electrolyte interface).
(3) High Voltage
ICG, The artificial graphite-based anode materials suppress gas generation under high voltage.
(4) High Durability
The new ICG (artificial graphite-based anode materials) have improved cyclelife and high durability with high material density.
Applications
