Sustainable Actions Driven by Shinkolite, Providing New Values for the Future

As a leading manufacturer of acrylic resin, we are committed to pursuing more environmentally friendly and sustainable applications to minimize the environmental impact so we are able to enjoy the convenience and versatility of acrylic resin.

Did you know that acrylic sheets are suitable for recycling?

Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation is engaging in the research and development of the chemical recycling system as a means of sustainable use. Chemical recycling refers to thermal decomposition of acryl by the microwave method, which is a similar process to microwave ovens, to obtain MMA as the raw material of acrylic resin.

“transparency”:There are no restrictions on the color, size, or disposal condition of the acrylic resin to be collected. Because it is returned to raw material MMA using advanced pyrolysis and refining technology, it maintains the same high transparency as petroleum-based MMA, regardless of its color or condition at the time of collection. High purity realized by recycling to raw material MMA:Recycling to the raw material MMA ensures high purity of the raw material, and characteristics beyond transparency are also guaranteed. Performance that meets the various needs includes weather resistance, processability, and design and is maintained to a similar level to the traditional acrylic sheet.

Aiming for a new standard.

Wider use of acrylic sheet recycling in our daily lives will not only help to reduce plastic waste but also contribute to the efficient use of limited resources and the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions.

We will endeavor to establish chemical recycling as a new standard for acrylic materials while overcoming the boundaries of different industries.
