New Synthetic Suede Trademark SPIROSA™
to be Introduced for Vehicle Applications
Since 2004 we have been working to expand the range of application of our synthetic suede GLORE
VALCANA, made from polyester fibers, from apparel use into the additional field of vehicle upholstery. We have decided to take advantage of the construction of new production facilities now under construction (with startup scheduled for January 2007) to adopt the new trademark of SPIROSA for vehicle use. In the near future, we will be making aggressive efforts to market this product to vehicle makers and thus expand our total customer base.
Features of SPIROSA™
・It is a completely new type of synthetic suede that is ecologically sound, as the manufacturing process involves no organic solvents.
・Because it employs a highly stretchable foundation cloth,
it is highly resistant to tearing, and molds itself easily and naturally
to any form.
・The completion of the new production facilities will enable Mitsubishi Rayon to develop even higher-quality versions of this material and thereby tap unmet or under-served needs in high-end markets.
