Mitsubishi Rayon Co., Ltd.
Notice of 10% increase in price of DIANALTM acrylic resin
for paints and inks
Mitsubishi Rayon Co., Ltd. hereby notifies users of its products that the price of DIANAL acrylic resin for paints and inks in the Japanese market will be raised by 10%, effective April 21, 2005.
A steep rise has recently occurred in the market prices of the immediate raw materials from which DIANAL is made — notably MMA (methyl methacrylate) as well as other monomers and solvents — owing to the high price of the original raw material, crude oil, as well as the fact that these materials are currently in tight supply.
Demand for paints from automakers, who constitute the principal users, remains firm. Meanwhile, a comparatively steady growth in demand is also being seen in non-paint applications for DIANAL acrylic resin, such as inks and adhesives.
Against this background, Mitsubishi Rayon finds it necessary to raise the sales price of DIANAL in order to secure stocks of the necessary raw materials and ensure its ability to continue supplying this product to its users.
