Reorganization of the Fibers Business

Mitsubishi Rayon Co., Ltd. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Hitoshi Ochi, hereinafter “MRC”) will acquire, through an absorption-type merger, its consolidated subsidiaries Mitsubishi Rayon Textile Co., Ltd. (Head office: Osaka-shi, Osaka Prefecture; President: Takashi Fukuzawa, hereinafter “MTX”) and MRC Pylen Co., Ltd. (Head office: Osaka-shi, Osaka Prefecture; President: Hiroyuki Sano, hereinafter “MPY ”) in April 2016 with an aim to strengthen its fibers business.

MRC currently operates its businesses relating to acrylic, acetate, polyester and polypropylene fibers through three companies---MRC, MTX and MPY. The scheduled merger will integrate these businesses and establish a structure to conduct sales, marketing and technological development across the fibers and thereby to strengthen its capabilities to communicate with the market and create new markets.

The new structure with the integrated fibers business is scheduled to commence on April 1, 2016, based on the further consideration of its details.
