Mitsubishi Plastics, Inc. (head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Takumi Ubagai) announces that it has concluded contracts with Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Masami Iijima) and ORIX Corporation (head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Makoto Inoue) for leasing land and other space to the two companies for a period of 20 years. Under these contracts, it is going to lease a parcel of land on the grounds of the Koriyama Plant (Koriyama-shi, Fukushima Prefecture) and some space on the plant roof for photovoltaic (PV) power generation projects. The two PV systems will have a combined installation area of about 52,000 square meters and installed panel capacity of about 3.5 MW.

 In the interest of community contribution and support for recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake, the Company has thus far provided space on the grounds of its Koriyama Plant for a baseball ground for a local little league team (free of charge) and leased additional space there for storage of materials used in recovery work. In this case as well, it decided to lease space to Mitsui and ORIX for PV power generation projects in the belief that such effective utilization of this space will enable the Company to make an indirect contribution to a stable supply of energy in the area.

(1) Mitsui & Co., Ltd.

(2) ORIX Corporation
Installation area:  About 6,000 m2 (leasing of space on the plant roof)
Installed capacity (module capacity): 646 kW
Schedule:  Start of construction in September 2013
 Start of commercial operation in January 2014 (tentative)

* In the case of both projects, the contract term extends for 20 years from the date of operation commencement.
