Mitsubishi Plastics, Inc. (head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; president: Hiroshi Yoshida) has incorporated a subsidiary, Mitsubishi Plastics Asia Pacific (MPAP), in the Republic of Singapore. MPAP will market and sell composite products in the Asia Pacific region, and will serve as a base for developing the strategy for the businesses of the MPI Group in the region.

MPI exports ALPOLIC™, a multilayer aluminum/plastic composites panel for building and other interiors and exteriors, for sale in various countries and regions in the Asia Pacific region, and it has already won a strong reputation for its outstanding quality and after-sales service.
The incorporation of MPAP will establish a sales and support regime with close ties to the local region, enabling MPI to respond to its customers' needs with even greater attention, and work actively to cultivate new demand. In doing so, MPI will strengthen and accelerate its composite materials business.
MPAP will also serve as a base for developing MPI's international strategy for the Asia Pacific region. It will conduct marketing leveraging the strength of the ALPOLIC™ brand and its business channels built worldwide, in order to promote sales of the MPI Group's products; it will also collect information and carry out other activities to expand MPI's global sales.

MPI's mid-term management plan identifies accelerating its international expansion as one of its key challenges. It calls for over 40% of total sales to come from international sales by fiscal 2012, and through the incorporation of MPAP, it will work to strengthen the functions of its international businesses and create synergy, aiming to increase its presence, scale, and revenues in the Asia Pacific region, where further growth is expected.
