Japanese Market Full-Scale Introduction!
Mitsubishi Kagaku Media Co., Ltd.
Mitsubishi Kagaku Media Co., Ltd. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Shigenori Otsuka) will officially introduce its global "Verbatim" brand, growing in more than 80 countries around the globe in Europe, America and the Asia-Pacific region, into the Japanese market from September of this year.

Mitsubishi Kagaku Media has been selling USB memory, SD cards, portable hard disc drives, etc. under the Verbatim brand name since 2008, but from September of this year our entire line of data use optical discs will be rebranded from MITSUBISHI to Verbatim and the company aims for the establishment of a global brand that includes Japan.

The brand name Verbatim means 'literally' in Latin and has been used since the company's founding in 1969*2 to illustrate the principle of accurate, error free recording of data.

The Verbatim logo, which has developed around the world as a global logo, is the base to which a brilliant blue color was added to modify it for the Japanese market, giving it a transparent, futuristic motif. We achieved a logo that further heightens the brand's unique identity and provides a refined, high precision and progressive image suitable for recording media.

Through the supply of products, the "Verbatim Rainbow" package changes relationships among "People and People, People and Things, People and Ideas", ensuring reliable, pleasant and rich ones. It is an embodiment of the Verbatim concept, itself. The changing color patterns symbolize superior image and high quality characteristics and they are an emblem of the global brand for sale in many and varied countries around the world.
