Mitsubishi Kagaku Media Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Shigenori Otsuka) announces the sale from 25 February of single-sided double-layer 8cm DVD-R and DVD+R discs for video cameras in 3-packs for inkjet printer compatible discs and 5-packs for 5-color mix inkjet printer compatible discs.
We have been selling write-once recordable single-sided double-layer 8cm DVD discs since August 2006 when video cameras which supported single-sided double-layer DVDs first appeared. However, the product lineup is being expanded in response to demands for expansion in the printing area and disc level diversification. As a result, new product labels have wider printing area compared products of the company to date, and varied colors.
Using single-sided double-layer DVDs, it is possible to continuously record for a long period without turning the disc. Furthermore, these products have the double-layer DVD technology as well as a hard coating which provides resistance against scratches, dirt and finger prints, and is easy to clean, enabling valuable images to be safeguarded.
As a means to prevent against mistaken purchases, packaging for DVD-R is dark pink whilst packaging for DVD+R is green. In addition, for these products, we have employed see-through packaging which is easily identifiable.
The Mitsubishi Kagaku Media/Verbatim Group aims to become a recording media company that continues to create new values demanded by the time.
