MKM's Latest BIGAZO Image-Recording DVD Discs Offer
Quality Reproduction, Glossy Finish, Inkjet Printer Compatibility
Mitsubishi Kagaku Media Co., Ltd.
Mitsubishi Kagaku Media Co., Ltd., (MKM) (Head office: Minato-ku,Tokyo; President: Shigenori Otsuka) today announ ced the introduction of BIGAZO, a new image-recording DVD disc that delivers glossy photo-quality labels. MKM;s proprietary three-layer technology enables the glossy label finish. The new disc will go on the market in Japan in early November.
"We expect the DVD disc market to account for some 2.5 billion units in fiscal 2005*1," said MKM Chief Information Officer Shigeru Tamura. "That represents an increase of 79 percent over fiscal 2004. In addition, a greater percentage of discs come with labels that are inkjet compatible, which means that more and more consumers are designing and printing their own unique DVD labels."
About 70 percent of DVD users want personalized disc labels*2, whether or not they have printers. To meet this demand, MKM introduced its BIGAZO line of image-recording DVD discs with high-versatility labels in March 2005. As expected, sales for BIGAZO discs have been robust.
Since then, consumer needs have continued to diversify, and while disc users demand high-resolution image reproduction, they also want photo-quality reproduction with their inkjet-compatible disc labels. To meet these needs, MKM added the BIGAZO Glossy Photographic Label Quality DVD discs to its product lineup.

BIGAZO Glossy Photographic Label Quality DVD discs, another example of MKM's commitment to leading-edge DVD products.
