Plastics Solution Site of Mitsubishi Chemical Group

Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Ryuichi Tomizawa) and 10* Mitsubishi Chemical Group companies have decided to set up the plastics solution site on the Internet and start the website from November 1, 2002. The name of the website will be "Plastics Site of Mitsubishi Chemical Group, http://www.plastics-net.com".
The website will feature a wide range of products and support structure for customers' product development with the technology of various products. The website will provide product information of about 1,000 grades of 30 product categories to cover from such general-purpose plastics as polyethylene and polystyrene to such functional plastics as engineering plastics, thermoplastic elastomer and foam polypropylene. A wide range of useful information will be provided to those who are involved in packaging materials, parts and components of electric appliances, auto parts and components, and medical devices.
With diverse searching functions by purpose that are not seen in other websites, the products in the site can be selected easily. The functions include not only "qualitative search" such as by use and characteristics but also "quantitative search" for those which are shown with mechanical character, physical character, electrical character and numerical values. Since the search results can be saved in "my page", an exclusive page for registrants, it is not necessary to search frequently.
Furthermore, the "information by use" pages provide visual explanations on examples of plastic use by field. The "technical information" pages provide a high level of explanation on each field of specialty. When the desired materials cannot be found by search function, it is possible to easily contact with persons in charge of each of Mitsubishi Chemical Group companies by e-mail or telephone through "inquiry" function. Since the 10 participating companies will respond, customers can use superior technology of all the companies which are specialized in respective fields.
By operating the new website together with already established solution site "Plastic film sheets of Mitsubishi Chemical Group" (http://www.film-sheet.com), the Mitsubishi Chemical Group will respond to diversified needs of customers in various fields swiftly and adequately as a group.
The new website will be shown and demonstrated at the "International Plastics Fair 2002 (IPF 2002)" which will be held at Makuhari Messe from November 9 through 13, 2002.
