A Solution Site on Plastic Film Sheets To Be
Opened |

Japan Polychem Corporation (JPC, Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Mitsubishi
Chemical Corporation (MCC; Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Kanji Shono
) and 22 Group companies will open and operate a solution site from early December
to support their customers solving issues concerning plastic film sheets covering
from wrapping films sheet to such special-use films as insulation film for condensers.
The name of the site will be "Plastic Film Sheet of Mitsubishi Chemical Group"
(http://www.film-sheet.com).
The site will be equipped primarily solution function and catalogue searching
function. By listening to the requirements of our customers, Mitsubishi Chemical
Group companies which handle such variety of plastic film sheets as polyethylene,
polypropylene, polystyrene, vinyl chloride resins, and polyester film aim at providing
the customers with solution by gathering a variety of products and relevant technologies.
As to the solution function of the site, if a customer selects and searches such
conditions as the field of use, raw materials, and specific use, the name of the
most suitable product, outline of the product, and the name of the company which
handles the product will be displayed from among a variety of film sheet products
of the Group companies. The customer is also able to search even if he does not
know the details of the product and to get advice by e-mail without any concrete
conditions for use. In both cases, a person in charge at Mitsubishi Chemical Group
companies will respond to the request.
As to the catalogue search function, the customers are not only able to inspect
whole catalogues but also search for the catalogue of specific product by use
or through input of key word.
Mitsubishi Chemical Group companies conduct film sheet business using various
functional resins such as polyamide and polycarbonate in addition to so-called
general purpose resins such as polyethylene and polypropylene and have developed
their businesses in such a wide-ranging fields as for wrapping of food and pharmaceutical
products, industrial, construction materials, and agricultural materials. By operating
the site, the Group companies will become able to respond to the customers' needs
swiftly and adequately, which could expand their film sheet business in the future.
By the way, the outline of the site will be announced at the "Inchem Tokyo 2001",
which will start on Tuesday, November 27, 2001
