Change in Name of Logistics Company for Mitsubishi

Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President: Akira
Miura)has implemented a number of measures to reduce logistics expenses. As of
July 1st, the majority of logistics management operations at Mitsubishi Chemical
will be transferred toKasei Logistics Corporation (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo,
President: Takashi Saito), a Mitsubishi Chemical affiliate. At this time, the
name of the company will be changed from Kasei Logistics Corporation to Mitsubishi
Chemical Logistics Corporation.
Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation considers logistics to be an especially important
aspect of its business, and started implementing a 3-year medium-term strategy
program in1995 entitled LET's (Logistics Efficiency Total cost Save). The objective
of this program is to reduce logistics expenses by 10 billion yen during this
period through enhancements in efficiency.
The transferring of logistics management is aimed at further accelerating this
program to strengthen logistics efficiency throughout the Mitsubishi Chemical
group. Specifically, logistics planning will be conducted at Mitsubishi Chemical,
with the dailyand company support functions handled in the future by Mitsubishi
Chemical Logistics Corporation.
This change will result in Mitsubishi Chemical Logistics Corporation taking the
main role in the program to enhance logistics efficiency. The company will be
responsible forfinding new shipping companies, with an emphasis on the aggressive
development of expanded overseas shipment solutions.
