Notice Regarding Delay in Restarting Kashima Ethylene Production after Scheduled Maintenance

Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Hiroaki Ishizuka) conducted scheduled maintenance of the ethylene production facility at its Kashima Plant (Location: Kamisu-shi, Ibaraki; General Manager: Kazuyuki Okubo) from May 9 to June 30. A routine inspection of the facility detected a fault in part of the equipment, and a detailed investigation is currently underway. The additional work is expected to delay the restart of production at the plant by about two weeks from the scheduled completion of the maintenance on July 1.
