Jul 1953 MKC Mitsubishi Chemical Industries Limited (the predecessor of Mitsubishi Kasei Corporation) merged with Toho Kagaku Kogyo (Yokkaichi Plant), and the Plant started its operation as Yokkaichi Plant (present Yokkaichi Plant) of Mitsubishi Chemical Industries Limited.
Apr 1956 MPC Mitsubishi Group and Shell Group jointly established Mitsubishi Petrochemical Co., Ltd.

Oct 1992 MKC Mitsubishi Kasei Corporation merged with Mitsubishi Kasei Polytec Company (Tsukuba Plant) and JTC, and the Plant started its operation as Tsukuba Plant of Mitsubishi Kasei Corporation.
Jan 1993 MKC Taiwan Branch Office (- Jun 1998) was established.
Apr 1993 MKC Sendai Branch Office (- Oct 1999) was established.
Jul 1993 MPC Beijing Branch Office (present Beijing Office of Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation) was established.

Oct 1994 MCC Mitsubishi Kasei Corporation and Mitsubishi Petrochemical Co., Ltd. merged and started the operation as Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation.
Mar 1995 MCC Jakarta Office (- Apr 2000) was established.
Oct 1999 MCC Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation merged with Tokyo Tanabe Co., Ltd. and established a subsidiary, Mitsubishi-Tokyo Pharmaceuticals, Inc., to take over combined pharmaceutical operations.
Oct 2001 MCC Mitsubishi-Tokyo Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Welfide Corporation merged and started the operation as a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation, Mitsubishi Pharma Corporation.
Jul 2003 MCC Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation established an independent company, Mitsubishi Chemical Group Science and Technology Research Center, Inc. as a corporate central research.
Oct 2003 MCC Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation relocated the head office to Minato-ku, Tokyo.
Oct 2005 MCC Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation and Mitsubishi Pharma Corporation jointly established a holding company, Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings Corporation, by means of a stock-for-stock exchange.
Oct 2006 MCC Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation relocated the head office to Shiba 4-chome, Minato-ku, Tokyo.
May 2012 MCC Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation relocated the head office to Marunouchi 1-chome, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.
